Our Story

In 2018, Bonnie West started Addie Birch Home Furnishings after working in the custom window covering and design industry for 21 years.

The new showroom has been praised for its modern organic style with comfortable practicality. The name Addie stems from Bonnie’s granny who Bonnie’s Grandpa Johnny lovingly called Addie. This name was also passed on to her daughter who now works for the company. Granny Addie came to Canada from the Netherlands and was of Dutch descent. The birch part of the name was decided based on Birch being a Canadian wood commonly used in custom furniture.

Bonnie enlisted Dianne Domaratzski, her friend and work associate of 25 years to help her establish the creative aspects of the brand. Bonnie and Dianne used their backgrounds in window coverings and furniture to create a one-stop-shop design experience. Addie Birch Home Furnishings focuses on stocking quality pieces from Canadian suppliers and distributors yet still having genuine materials from the Philippines, Indonesia, India etc. Addie Birch Home Furnishings strives to find the perfect piece for everyone. Therefore, design consultants can assist in creating quality customizable pieces as well assist in designing a single piece, a room or a whole home. I wasn’t completed completed convinced at first that remote control blinds was something I would use . Wow, I was wrong. It is absolutely beautiful when you are watching a movie and the sun moves right on to the screen and you can’t see the show anymore. All I have to do is pick up a remote , push the button “all” and all the blinds come down . We use it a lot more then I ever thought we would.
